SID aggregates data from publicly available sources, including the Department for Education's Get Information about Schools (GIAS) register, Ofsted, the School Workforce Census, and school and trust websites. While we refresh these sources regularly and apply verification checks, we cannot guarantee that every record is accurate, complete or up to date at the moment you view it.

Public information only

The information displayed on SID is limited to what is already published publicly or can be lawfully collected from public sources. We do not access private systems, paywalled databases or non-public records to obtain school or staff data.

GDPR and data protection

Where SID shows personal data such as staff names, job titles or publicly listed contact details, we do so because the information is already in the public domain or has been made available by the school or trust itself. We process this data on the basis of legitimate interest for business-to-business sales and marketing purposes, and we take reasonable steps to keep it accurate and not to retain it longer than necessary.
